What does the explanation mark on my dashboard mean?

Your explanation mark on your dash board is a warning for you TPMS sensor. It means that you have a tire that is under the correct amount of pressure. The sensors are sometimes in your spare tire too, which should have it's air pressure checked at every oil change to make sure it's ready when you need it.  Give us a call and let us take care of you. 541-791-2886 Happy Adventures, Heather

What does the TPMS light mean?

This light indicates that one of your tires has low air pressure. It could be that your tire has a slow leak or maybe you picked up a nail. It could also be on due to a sudden change in the weather. If it has recently gotten cold then the air pressure in your tires will go down (heat expands, cold shrinks) and it may just need an adjustment. You can stop by anytime we are open and we will happily check your air pressure to make sure you're safe.  Give us a call and let us take care of you 541-791-2886 Happy Adventures, Heather

My heater isn't blowing hot

If your heater isn't blowing hot your engine could be low on coolant. I know how that sounds, but if your engine doesn't have enough coolant in it then it will cause your heater to not blow hot. The coolant cycles through your engine, radiator, cooling hoses and your heater core. Your heat that comes out of your vents is from the heater core and if you don't have enough coolant cycling through your system then it won't be warm.  Give us a call and let us take care of you 541-791-2886 Happy Adventures,  Heather

Why should you change your diesel's air filter

I'm just going to start this out by saying I love my diesel pickup. It does everything that I ask it to and it runs great. Saying that, diesels can be finicky, and sometimes they can be trouble. There is nothing a diesel loves more than maintenance, and if maintained properly they will have fewer repairs and breakdowns. When I say they love maintenance I mean it, and this isn't the big stuff it's really the smaller stuff. Oil changes, fuel filters, air filters, those types of things. Now that I've told you all of my love of diesels...... Today we're talking about air filters. When your air filter is dirty it restricts air flow. When this happens it will start to suck oil through the crankcase and charge air cooler, then it will start passing through the turbo and nothing good can come of any of that. I best recommendation is that when your air filter is dirty please do not neglect it and just replace it as needed.  Give us a call and let us take care of ... read more

How often should my car get a tune up?

Every engine is different, so there is no one model that works. Many of the engines that we see these days need a tune up at 90,000 miles. There are many manufactures out there that are still recommending tune ups at 30,000 and 60,000 miles too. Older vehicles need to have a tune up more frequently and some European cars only need a tune up every 120,000 miles. With any of this we would just need to check it and make sure before giving you the correct information.  Give us a call and let us take care of you 541-791-2886 Happy Adventures, Heather

When should my car get serviced?

Your car should get it's oil changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. We realize that the dealership may recommend for a longer oil change interval, but we've found that when you extend your oil change out longer than 5,000 miles then it can cause long term issues with your engine. Over time your oil breaks down and it isn't able to lubricate your engine as well as it did. This is why we recommend to have your oil changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. We recommend 3,000 to those who are not using full synthetic and 5,000 to those who are using full synthetic oil. Give us a call and let us take care of you. 541-791-2886 Happy Adventures, Heather

Did you know....why does my check engine light flash

Anytime that your check engine light is on it means that a sensor did not pass the test that was conducted by the computer. If your check engine light is on and flashing then it means you have a catalyst damaging misfire. This means that your engine has a misfire and it can cause engine damage if not taken care of. This could be due to spark plugs, coil boots, or spark plug wires or ignition coils. We would have to test your components to know which as failed causing the issue.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My headlights are dim and cloudy

After a period of time your headlight lenses can become cloudy causing your headlights to be dim. This can be fixed without replacing your headlight lenses and will increase your night driving visibility. We do this by performing headlight restorations to the lenses on your car. We apply a compound to your headlight lenses then through several steps we are able clean them and make them like new again.  Give us a call and let us take care of you,  Happy Adventures, Heather

How often do I change my diesel fuel filter?

Your fuel filter should be changed every 15,000 miles. This is due to the fact that in Oregon we don't always get the best fuel and many times it has contaminates in it that will cause your engine to run poorly. If you know that you've gotten bad fuel then you should have your fuel filter changed to make sure that all of that contamination is caught before it reaches your engine. Depending on the type of contamination in the fuel it could damage your injectors, pumps and other components in your fuel system.     Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures, Heather
