This pulling could be due to your vehicle being out of alignment. When your wheels and tires are not in proper alignment it can cause a pull to either one side or the other. This can happen due to rough roads, pot holes, and curbs. If left for to long it can damage your tires and cause premature tire wear. Your check engine light can come on from anything as simple as a gas cap to an electrical failure and everything in between. The only way to know why it's on is to have a diagnostic test performed to find out why and what needs to be done to keep you on the road. This is not the same thing as a quick scan. While a quick scan is convenient it will not always tell you what the problem is. Let's say you have a misfire code. This you would think means that you need new spark plugs and this could be true, but what if you just had a tune up and this is now coming back. Your spark plugs are probably fine it most likely an issue with one of the other ignition components. This requires a test to find out which one it is. If your battery keeps dying then it could be due to an issue with the electrical issue. Most newer cars have many modules that control the cars function - from the starting system to the stereo. If one of these modules refuses to turn off then it will cause a draw and that can make your battery die. To find our why we need to do a pin point test to eliminate modules. This can take some time as some vehicles will have 20+ modules. Once the corrupt module is found we can decide if it needs to be replaced or possibly reprogrammed. Your check engine light and your vehicle shaking could be due to the same issue. You could have a misfire causing both of those symptoms. When your vehicle is not firing properly then it can cause your vehicle to shake. This fault will also cause the check engine light to come on. This could be due to an issue with your starting system. If your starting is fail then when you go to start your engine it will make a click noise. Anytime that your vehicle's engine overheats it can be damaging to your engine components. The engine coolant is a vital component to keep your vehicle running as it should. This could be due to a water pump that has failed and is no longer pumping coolant through the cooling system. This would cause your engine to overheat. This could be due to an issue with your valve cover gasket harness. The harness has clips that are made of hard plastic. Over time this can become brittle from heat and age. When the clip come undone it can cause your pickup to have a misfire on an injector, or a starting issue with your glow plugs. This is due to a lack of connection. This is most likely due to a faulty blend door actuator. Over time the components of the blend door actuator can wear out and it will stop working. At times it could stick causing it to only blow cold air or hot air. This is mostly likely due to a fault with one of your TPMS sensors. Your TPMS sensor is short for your Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor. This sensor monitors the air pressure in your tires. If one of your tires is below the pressure it should be or if it is over inflated the light will come on. This can also happen if one of the batteries in the sensor stops working. The batteries typically last 3 to 5 years. I usually recommend to have the sensors replaced when you have new tires installed on your vehicle. It saves you time and a second trip to have it replaced.
