Your Subaru could be overheating due to your thermostat not working properly. If your thermostat is not opening when it should then it will could cause your engine to overheat. Your thermostat is designed to open at a specific temperature. This enables your engine to operate that the optimum temperature for the best performance and fuel economy. When the battery light on your instrument cluster comes on it means that something has gone wrong in your charging system.
