This depends on the type of engine oil that your vehicle uses. If your engine uses conventional or synthetic blend oil then it is recommended that you change your oil every 3,000 miles. If your vehicle uses full synthetic oil then you should have your oil changed every 5,000 miles. We know that many manufacturers are pushing oil change intervals to greater lengths. Some are pushing them to as long as 10,000 miles.  The issue with delaying your oil change is that your engine oil starts to break down. Fuel and combustion gases build up in your oil, then your oil gets thin. This means that your engine oil is no longer protecting your engine as it should.  Many vehicles will consume a small amount of oil while driving. Most manufacturers state that your engine may consume up to 1 quart of oil per 1,000 miles driven. Why do I need to change my oil? Your oil is a vital component to your engine. Without it your engine will seize, and your vehicle will not run. Many components that are part of your engine rely on engine oil to run and operate properly. Over time your oil will get contaminated with fuel. Fuel makes your engine oil thin. When your engine oil is thin then it does not lubricate the internal components properly and this over time will cause failures. This will also happen if your oil is low. When your engine oil is low there is not enough of it to go around and to lubricate everything that needs it. When this happens, it will cause a failure of those components. That depends on how much you drive. If you drive more than the date then we go by the mileage. If you don't drive much then we suggest that you have your oil changed every 6 months.  Your oil will break down over time and it's hard on your engine components.  If you drive a lot then it's not an issue because you are probably getting your oil changed at least twice a year. If you're not then we should put you on an every 6 month oil change. If your engine takes a conventional or synthetic blend then we recommend to have it changed every 3,000 miles. Yes we do. They are just one of the services that we provide to our customers. We work on all makes, models, and years. We service brand new cars as well as vintage and classic cars. European, asian and domestic we can take care of them all.  We do have several older and more rare cars, if you have one of them we are happy to help you with it, we just ask that you give us enough notice to make sure we have the proper engine oil filter and oil. Every engine is different and many take a very specific oil. While we have a wide variety of oil on hand if for some reason if we don't have the required oil for your vehicles engine we will order it so that it's here for you appointment.  Appointments are not necessary, but they are suggested. Many days we have open times to get you in, on a day like that we just ask that you leave your vehicle and we will get it in as soon as we can.
