  • Do I need to change my brake fluid?

    Posted on 25, October, 2018

The answer is yes, really that shouldn't surprise you much. When your brake fluid becomes contaminated with water - it draws moisture out of the air - it can cause your brake components to rust from the inside out. It will break down your seals, master cylinder, calipers and wheel cylinders then you will have a leak or a seized caliper. Along with the rust issue the fluid also has a lower boiling point so when you're doing a lot of braking it can cause your brakes to not work as well as they should.

When you live in high humidity or an area that gets a lot of rain you can expect to need to change your brake fluid more often than if you lived in a drier climate.

You can make your appointment here and we will see if you are in need of a brake fluid service.
