Transmission Fluid Change: When Do I Need to Change It?

If you're like most drivers, you probably don't think about your transmission fluid until there's a problem. And that's completely understandable—after all, it's not exactly something that's easy to check on a regular basis. But just because it's out of sight doesn't mean it can be ignored. In fact, if you don't change your transmission fluid when it needs to be changed, you could end up with some expensive repairs down the road. So when is the right time for a transmission fluid change? The answer, unfortunately, isn't a simple one. Do all cars leak water when AC is on?

Most do. The water is coming from your evaporator core inside your dash. While using your air conditioner the evaporator core will create condensation. This condensation drains out the bottom of your vehicle through a drain tube. This is completely normal and how the system is designed to work. If you see water on the inside of your vehicle you may have a plugged drain tube or other problem. Give us a call and let us take care of you. Why does my car smell?

Why does my car smell? What does it smell like? Is it a sweet smell or a stinky smell? A sweet smell could be from your cooling system. Coolant or antifreeze has a sweet smell. This could come from any of your cooling system components. If you have a stinky smell then it could be a mouse that went for a ride along. They will crawl inside your dash and make a nest. The good news is the nest is removable, and once it is removed the smell will go away. Give us a call and let us take care of you. What does a rack and pinion do?

What is a rack and pinion? Your rack and pinion is one of your steering components. Inside the rack and pinon, it has a pinion gear that is round. This connects to the steering column shaft. It also has a rack gear which is flat. The pinion gear stays stationary. It moves the rack gear back and forth as you turn your steering wheel. From there it connects to the tie rods that are connected to the knuckle at your wheel. This allows you to turn your vehicle. Give us a call and let us take care of you. 17 years serving you

Our 17th Anniversary We want to take a moment to stop and thank you for letting us into your lives and letting us take care of you. When we opened the shop on July 5th, 2005, we never imagined all the amazing people we would meet. The ones who would become lifelong friends and the wonderful employees that we have worked with us each day. The road has not always been smooth, and we’ve had some hard lessons. We have taken those to heart and learned and grown with each one. We started off with just Jason and a dream. The boys were just little and now here we are 17 years later. Conner – our oldest – is now out of college and working at the shop. He wants to continue the legacy and run the shop in the future.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to take care of you and for trusting us with everything that is important to you. Happy Adventures, Heather

Why does my a/c only blow on high?

If your air conditioning is only blowing on high then it could be due to a faulty blower motor resistor. The blower motor resistor could go out due to a terminal getting burnt due to the blower motor drawing too much current. When the blower motor is drawing too much current it will overload the circuits on the resistor. This will cause them to burn out and stop working. Why is my check engine light blinking?

Why is my check engine light blinking? Your check engine light may be blinking due to a worn-out or faulty spark plug. When your check engine light is on and blinking it indicates that your engine has a catalyst damaging misfire. It can be caused by other issues other than your spark plugs. We would need to perform an engine diagnostic to know for sure that it is your spark plug and not a different component. We do promote replacing random parts to find out what is wrong. We prefer to know which part has failed and replace the correct part the first time. This saves you both time and money. Give us a call and let us take care of you.
