Why does my diesel have a misfire?

Why does my diesel have a misfire?

Your diesel could have a misfire due to a faulty fuel injector. Your fuel injector can fail due to do contaminated or bad fuel. Dirty engine oil on certain models, electrical failure or a mechanical failure of the injector. To know why we need to run tests to determine why you have a misfire and to prevent potential engine damage.  We start with scanning the ECM for diagnostic trouble codes this tells us if the ECM recognizes the issue as a misfire or as an electrical issue. From there we then will either check electrical connections or take a fuel sample. The wiring harnesses for some fuel injectors can come unplugged causing a misfire. The wiring harness can also become damaged due to rubbing or other damage such as rodents. Sometimes this can be repaired, other times it will need to be replaced.    When we take a fuel sample, we check for water contamination and other possible contaminates. Do I change my cabin air filter?

Do I change my cabin air filter?

Why should I change my cabin air filter? The easy answer is to keep you healthy. Your Cabin Air Filter filters the air that you and your breathe inside your car.  It Filters out smoke, pollen, mold, dirt and other pollutants. Over time your Cabin Air Filter will become dirty and clogged. When it becomes dirty and clogged then it will no longer keep the air in your car clean. This can cause your Cabin Air Filter to grow bacteria. Your Cabin Air Filter should be changed every 15,000 miles or once a year. Last year after the forest fires and smoke in the valley we recommended to have your cabin air filter changed due to all the smoke. If you have not had it changed yet, then we would recommend having it changed soon. If you drive on dirt roads, then we would recommend having your Cabin Air Filter changed more frequently. Why is it important to change my air filter?

Why is it important to change my air filter?

Your air filter is a filter that allows clean air to enter your engine. If your air filter is dirty, clogged or damaged it can prevent clean air from getting into your engine making it not run properly and it can cause poor fuel mileage.  Your cabin air filter is different from your engine air filter. If you live in an area that is dusty or if your drive on dirt or gravel roads frequently then you will probably have to change your air filter more often.  If your wondering what your air filter looks like give us a call or request an appointment online and we will give it a check for you.  Happy Adventures, Heather

I know today is black Friday and that itself has become a national holiday, but with all of that please remember to shop at the local stores in your town. They are small businesses trying to provide for there families, they work long hours with very little reward other than to know they are making a difference in the lives of the people who they employ and to there children. We are a small business too and sometimes people forget.  Please remember to shop small and support that local family who is doing their best to make a difference. Happy Adventures,  Heather

Air filter for you and your car

Air filter for you and your car

HAir filters are important to the health of your vehicle's engine, the air that flows into the engine goes through the air filter first and when your air filter is dirty or clogged that means that your engine is being starved for air. It should be changed before it ever gets to that point to keep your vehicle running at it's best. We advise for the engine air filter to be changed based on condition. Some vehicles have a cabin air filter too, these filters are for the air that you breath in the car. We advise that your filter should be changed between 15,000 and 20,000 miles and some of that depends on the places that you go, if you smoke in your car then we advise it to be changed every 10,000 miles.  Happy Adventures Heather
