New Driver

New Driver

New driver in the house? Do you have a new driver? Do they know about maintaining a vehicle? With a new driver we go through the maintenance requirements and best practices with them and the vehicle they are driving. It’s no charge, but you do need to schedule an appointment with Heather. Even if it is Grandmas old car or borrowing Mom or Dad’s car. It is important for them to know what it takes to properly maintain a vehicle. This keeps them and the vehicle safe on the road and gives them the knowledge to know what is important. Give us a call to schedule your appointment. Back to school 2021 is almost here

Back to school 2021 is almost here

Back to school is almost here The last thing my kid wants to hear is that back to school is coming. We have just over a month here in the Willamette Valley before the kids get to go back to school. The last two years have been rough on them, and we are hopeful this school year is better. Fall sports are getting ready to start back up again as well and this means a lot of running around for all those games. I know I never wanted to miss a game.  Especially due to an issue with my vehicle. Every August I would make sure I had my oil changed and my vehicle checked to make sure I did not have any issues. I did not want to worry about not having my vehicle when I should be at a game.  The kids only have so many games. Now is that time. Give us a call and let us take care of you. What are the symptoms of a bad mass air flow sensor?

If your Mass Air Flow Sensor is bad, then it can show up as many different issues. It can cause your Check Engine Light to come on. It can also cause poor run-ability with an Engine Misfire. You may notice that your Fuel Mileage has gone down. You may also have a Lack of Power. It could be one of these symptoms. If your Mass Air Flow Sensor is not replaced, then it may cause damage to your Catalytic Converter. Give us a call and let us take care of you. My battery light came on and my gauges stopped working

Most times we find when your battery light comes on it means that your alternator has failed. When you alternator fails it stops charging your electrical system and then your car is only running on the battery. This will typically only last 10 minutes or so before your car will die. If your battery light comes on while driving you should get to the nearest safe spot to pull over and turn off your car. I say this because on newer cars if the battery dies it can cause damage to your car's computer and other electrical components.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

Back to school 2020

I don't have to tell you how different the school year looks this year, we are all struggling and wishing things looked differently. We are hoping that it will get better and the kids will get back into the classrooms and back to the activities they love. Our kids are old enough that they are doing online school for now with the hopes of that changing in the next few months. We're not "going" as much as we have typically but we're trying to make the most of the situation that we have. We hope that you're all well and all of your kids are handling it as well as can be expected. Please let us know if you need anything for your kids and for the younger ones who are in school I hope they get to soak up as much of it as possible.  Since we're all hopeful for school starting in person now is the time to get your maintenance caught up from all the summer fun. We went on Sunday drives and had adventures within our social distancing guidelines. Now it's t ... read more

My brakes are making a grinding noise

Your brakes could be making a grinding noise due to a caliper that is sticking and causing premature wear to your brake pads. This when left undiagnosed can cause your brake pads to damage your rotor if your pads get to thin. Having a caliper dragging will cause poor fuel mileage, pulling when driving or braking and if left for to long it can be a safety hazard.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

School's back in!!

It's week three of school being back in. In our house we are settling into back into our schedule and things are going well (so far). I have a driver now so that is taking a huge load off in the mornings too. This is not to say everything is just peaches and cream - trust me I have plenty of the where is this and that and why aren't you dressed and you're going ot have to eat this on the way to school.  This is our last year of having three in three different schools, next year we're starting the down hill slope and we're at two schools. I thought I drove a lot before school started but now with all that drop-ff and pick-up stuff along with high school sports my car is getting a workout for sure. It's almost ready for another oil change and probably a little scheduled maintenance too.  Give us a call and let us take care of you. We will make you a maintenance schedule for your car so you know when and what is due.  Happy Adventures Heather

The count down is on for back to school

The count down is officially on at my house for back to school. We don't start until 7 days out and that was officially yesterday. Now I will miss my kids, but really I work all day and I don't get to see them so they might as well go to school and learn something. I say this like I have to drag my kids to go back to school, but they are ready too. We don't live in town and that means they don't get to see friends as often as they would like and they are ready to see someone other than a sibling for sure.  With the start of back to school is also the start of fall sports in my house, now they've been practicing for a few weeks now, but our first game is on tuesday. That just means more going and miles on the road. I love watching my son play so every mile is worth it. It just means I need to make sure my car is in good shape so I can get to all those games.  Are you a sports parent too? If so you know how much fun it is to watch your kid play something t ... read more

Back to School Reminders

School has already started for some kids and others still have a couple weeks to go.  In honor of that school starting, here is some friendly reminders. With children heading back to school, we wanted to share these safety reminders with you. 1. Watch your speed in school zones! Be aware that school zone speed limits may vary in hours and speeds. Be sure to follow the posted limits. 2. Slow down in residential areas. Watch for children crossing the street and congregating near bus stops. 3. Do not pass a school bus that is stopped to load or unload children. Traffic in both directions on undivided highways must stop when students are entering or exiting a school bus (the red flashing lights and extended stop sign arms are your cue to stop). On a divided roadway, all traffic behind the school bus must stop. 4. Be alert! The area 10 feet around a school bus is where children are in the most danger of being hit. Children walking to and from their bus are usually very comfortable wit ... read more
