Back to school!! Now is the time to get your car ready.

Getting your car ready for back to school involves ensuring its safety, reliability, and functionality. Here are the top 10 things to do to prepare your car for the upcoming school season: Check Fluids: Ensure that your car's fluids are at appropriate levels. This includes engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and windshield washer fluid. If any of these fluids are low or dirty, have them replaced or topped up. Inspect Tires: Check the tire pressure and tread depth. Properly inflated tires improve fuel efficiency and handling, while good tread depth ensures safe traction. Consider rotating or replacing tires if needed. Brake Inspection: Have your brakes inspected by a professional. Ensure that brake pads and rotors are in good condition, as reliable brakes are crucial for safety. Battery Check: Inspect your car's battery for signs of corrosion and ensure it has sufficient charge. Cold weathe ... read more

What does my teen need to know about maintaining a vehicle?

What does my teen need to know about maintaining a vehicle?

Teaching your teenager about maintaining a vehicle is a valuable life skill that can save them money, ensure their safety, and promote responsible ownership. Here are some important things your teen should know: Regular Maintenance Schedule: Explain the importance of regular maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, air filter replacements, and fluid checks. Following the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule helps keep the vehicle running smoothly and prevents potential issues. Oil Changes: Teach your teen how to check the oil level and understand when an oil change is needed. Explain the different types of motor oil and why choosing the right one is essential. Tire Care: Show them how to check tire pressure and tread depth. Properly inflated tires improve fuel efficiency and handling, while good tread depth ensures safe driving in various weather conditions. Fluid Checks: Familiarize y ... read more

Why does my CP4 pump fail?

This may be due to the CP4 pump failing. Your CP4 pump is your high-pressure fuel pump. This pump converts low fuel pressure into high fuel pressure. Your CP4 may fail due to many reasons.  The CP4 pump may fail due a lack of lubrication to the pump itself. This lack of lubrication can be from ultra-low sulfur diesel. This diesel does not have all the lubrication properties that are needed for the pump to work correctly. It can also fail due to water in your fuel system. The water will take away the lubrication properties of your diesel and this will cause the pump to fail. Water in your fuel can cause failure. Your fuel filters help to filter out the water. If you fuel filters are old, then they will not filter out the water properly.  Your CP4 pump has a camshaft with lobes inside the pump. When this component starts to fail it causes metal debris. This debris is introduced into the fueling system including your fuel injectors, fuel tank, fuel lines, anything that fuel go ... read more

Why did my cars air conditioning stop working?

Why did my cars air conditioning stop working?

Here are a few potential reasons: 1. Low refrigerant levels: If the refrigerant levels in your car's AC system are low, it can cause the system to stop working. This can happen due to leaks in the system or normal wear and tear over time. 2. Electrical issues: The AC system in your car relies on electrical components to function. If there is a problem with the electrical system, such as a blown fuse or faulty wiring, it can cause the AC to stop working. 3. Faulty compressor: The compressor is a key component of the AC system, and if it fails, the system won't work. This can happen due to a number of reasons, including wear and tear or a lack of regular maintenance. 4. Blocked or clogged condenser: The condenser is responsible for removing heat from the refrigerant. If it becomes blocked or clogged, it can prevent the AC system from working properly. 5. Malfunctioning blower: The blower is responsible for circulating the cooled air throughout your car's interior ... read more

We're Expanding

We're Expanding

We're adding on and doing a remodel. After a very long time and what seemed like would never happen we are finally under way. We have had our share of hiccups and road blocks. They broke ground back in September and then things got delayed. We received our permits from the county in December and they pour concrete a few weeks later. Two weeks ago they started framing and now we have two walls up. I am sure we will have more hiccups and it will take time.  The new portion of the shop will house 4 new bays with 20ft ceilings. We will be able to accommodate those larger and taller vehicles as well as some medium duty pickups. We will still service all makes and models cars, pickups, and vans.      We are so excited for this opportunity to serve our clients and our community. We have a women's clinic and a new drivers clinic in the works. We believe that everyone should be well informed on how to take care of their car. The clinics will cover how to ... read more

What does a turbocharger do?

What does a turbocharger do?

A turbo charger compresses the air and forces it into the engine. When done properly this can dramatically increase the amount of power that a small engine can produce. Smaller engines are often more fuel efficient, this give you the benefit of more power and still having great fuel economy. Along with a turbocharger a few other components are needed to make it as efficient and powerful as possible. Including an intercooler, hoses, and pipes. Rapidly compressed air gets very hot, decreasing the temperature of the air through the intercooler before it goes into the engine increasing density and giving the engine more power. Can I run bio-diesel instead of regular diesel

Can I run bio-diesel instead of regular diesel

Can I run bio-diesel instead of regular diesel This depends on the age of your engine and fuel system. Many of the newer diesels that were made after 2000 do not tolerate bio-diesel. The decreased lubrication caused by bio-diesel fuels can lead to high pressure pump failure, fuel injector failure and possible damage to your engine. Every engine is different and it’s best to ask if it’s right for your engine before using it. Give us a call and let us take care of you. Why does my diesel have a misfire?

Why does my diesel have a misfire?

Your diesel could have a misfire due to a faulty fuel injector. Your fuel injector can fail due to do contaminated or bad fuel. Dirty engine oil on certain models, electrical failure or a mechanical failure of the injector. To know why we need to run tests to determine why you have a misfire and to prevent potential engine damage.  We start with scanning the ECM for diagnostic trouble codes this tells us if the ECM recognizes the issue as a misfire or as an electrical issue. From there we then will either check electrical connections or take a fuel sample. The wiring harnesses for some fuel injectors can come unplugged causing a misfire. The wiring harness can also become damaged due to rubbing or other damage such as rodents. Sometimes this can be repaired, other times it will need to be replaced.    When we take a fuel sample, we check for water contamination and other possible contaminates. To determine if the low-pressure fuel system is working properly, we test to ... read more

My car is shaking when I brake. Why?

Why does my car shake when I brake? If your car starts shaking when you brake, it could be a sign of brake problems. There are several things that can cause this issue, and it's important to have your brakes checked out as soon as possible if you're experiencing this problem. In this blog post, we will discuss the different causes of car shaking and what you can do to fix them. When a car is shaking when braking, it's typically caused by one of three things: worn-out pads, warped rotors, or misaligned wheels. Worn-out pads are the most common issue, as they can cause excessive vibration when applied. Warped rotors are another common issue that causes shaking, and this occurs when the rotors become uneven due to excessive heat and wear. Lastly, misaligned wheels can also cause cars to shake when braking, as they can cause the brakes to be applied unevenly or sporadically. The best way to address these issues is by having a professional inspect your bra ... read more
