My car is making a ticking noise

Posted on 12/14/2020

This ticking noise could be coming from your exhaust manifold. Over time the bolts that connect the exhaust manifold to your cylinder head will become brittle and they can break. The bolts get hot every time you drive your car and that hot/cold cycle after many miles can cause an issue. This is a common issue that is corrected by removing the broken bolt and gasket, then replacing the gasket and hardware. There are other reasons for your engine to be ticking, but this is a common problem.
