Why does my tire pressure light turn on when it's cold

Posted on 1/5/2021

Your tire pressure light comes on when it's cold outside due to the air retracting. When it's warm air rises and expands. When it's cold outside air retracts or deflates. This will cause your tire pressure to change just a few degrees when it gets cold outside. Your tire pressure light has a small margin of where your tire pressure should be, if it drops or is overinflated then it will cause your light to come on. The best thing is to have your tire pressure checked to make sure you're safe when ever you are out and about.
