Anytime that a light comes on your dash it can be concerning. Your check engine light can unfortunately mean a 100 different things. It can range from very simple as a failed fuel cap to something more concerning with your engine or transmission. Anytime it comes on it should be checked just to make sure you're safe and your vehicle is running properly. Taking care of a small issue can prevent a bigger issue down the road.
