My brakes make a grinding noise when I back up

Your brakes could be making a grinding noise due to a faulty brake caliper. If your caliper seizes then it can cause your brake pad to wear prematurely and this will cause grinding when the brake pad wears down to metal. If this happens your brake calipers, rotors and pads will all need to be replaced.
