My car is overheating at a stop

Why is my car overheating?

When your vehicle overheats it can cause engine damage. An overheating issue can be caused by multiple reasons. The most common is a lack of coolant in the cooling system. When your cooling system is low on coolant then you do not have enough to circulate through all the components. This will cause your engine to overheat. Water is not the solution. Water does not have the cooling ability that your engine needs to operate at the proper temperatures. When you are in an emergency where you have no other option then yes add water. Water is better than nothing, but it needs to be drained and refilled with the proper coolant for your engine as soon as possible. Give us a call and let us take care of you.
