My rear brake is smoking

Posted on 9/8/2020

Smoking brakes is something that you should be very concerned about. This could be due to the caliper being seized and applying the brake or it could be an issue with your parking brake system. If your parking brake cable gets stuck and it stays on it can also cause your brakes to smoke. Over time your parking brake cable can become corroded and the cable can seize which will make it not release when you release your parking brake. This can also cause your parking brake to not hold properly on a hill. This is a safety concern that needs to be addressed immediately to keep you, your family and others safe.
