What do I put in my radiator?

Posted on 1/21/2020

It seems that every car manufacturer has a different type of coolant they want in your engine. There is no one size fits all and many are very specific. If you put the wrong type of coolant in your engine it could potentially damage it. You should always add the type of coolant plus distilled water to your radiator. Tap water and well water contain elements that are hard on your engine.

Now if you're in a situation that it's an emergency then you can add a different coolant and just the water you have on hand. The engine and radiator can be cleaned and the correct fluids can be replaced.
