When I turn the wheel it makes a popping noise

This is typically do to an issue with in your suspension system. There are many things that can cause your popping noise, anything from worn bushings to ball joints and anything in between. A popping noise means there is movement where there shouldn't be any and that needs to get checked for your safety.
