Why did my car stall when I stopped

Your car could have stalled due to a vacuum leak on one of the lines. When you have a vacuum leak then your engine doesn't have the correct amount of pressure and it will cause it to run poorly and to even stall when stopped. The vacuum line will need to be repaired or replaced then re-checked. This can happen from the age of the line.
