Why does my car squeak when I go over bumps?

Posted on 4/17/2019

If your car is squeaking when you go over bumps - like speed bumps or railroad tracks - then your shocks and/or struts are probably worn out and are in need of replacement. Your shocks and struts due to be replaced every 75,000 to 100,000 miles. They wear over time so it isn't that noticeable that your vehicle isn't handling as well and the ride quality isn't what it was when you first bought your vehicle.
