Why is my transmission fluid burnt?

Posted on 7/1/2019

When someone is describing that your transmission fluid is burnt, or smells burnt it is because at some point the transmission got hotter than it should have and burnt the fluid. It's similar to if you overheat oil when you're cooking. It can also be from lack of regular service, or an internal issue within your transmission. No matter what the reason if your fluid is burnt then it needs to be serviced and monitored in the future.
