Why did my check engine light come on?

Your check engine light can come on from something as simple as a gas cap to an issue with an engine control module to a transmission issue. The only way to know for sure is to have it properly diagnosed. Sometimes it is as simple as a faulty gas cap and other times it may say it's a "gas cap" but it's something more complicated within the fuel and emissions system.
