This debris makes it hard for your radiator to work
Your radiator can become clogged from dust, dirt, straw and bugs. Over times these things can build up especially if you live in an area that has more debris. Your radiator being clogged can cause big issues for your cooling system. Your radiator is made of hundreds of small metal fins, these fins they transfer the heat out of the coolant into the air. This allows your engine to run at the proper temperature.
When your radiator is clogged it no longer allows the air to flow through the fins, this means it can no longer reduce the of temperature of the coolant. This can cause your engine to run hotter or overheat. It can eventually lead to engine damage and or failure.
In some cases when your radiator is accessible then it can be washed to remove the buildup. Other times your radiator will need to be removed to be cleaned and if it is to clogged then replacement may be necessary.
