Why is it hard to fill my tank with gas?

Your vent valve on your fuel tank might be plugged. The vent valve allows air to escape from your fuel tank while capturing fuel vapors in your charcoal canister while you are filling your fuel tank. If your charcoal canister deteriorates and allows charcoal to get into your vent valve this can cause your check engine light to come on and for it to be harder to fill up your tank.  Give us a call and let us take care of you. Why is it hard to fill my gas tank?

It could be hard to fill your gas tank due to the modern design of the cap-less gas tank fill port. This could be due to dirt and debris can get into your fuel filler neck assembly. This is supposed to seal your fuel tank when you remove the gas filler nozzle. If it does not seal when it closes it can cause a check engine light and possibly fuel contamination. If you are having issues give us a call and let us take care of you.   Happy Adventures, Heather   Our specials can be found here - Specials - J & H Automotive, Inc Ready to make an appointment … Appointments - J & H Automotive, Inc Want to know more … About Us - J & H Automotive, Inc Would you like to join our ... read more

My car won't run

If your car won't run then it could be due to a faulty fuel pump. Most of the time your fuel pump is an electrical component and over time it will wear out and need to be replaced. This isn't typically something that can be detected prior to the fuel pump failing. A tip to help your fuel pump last longer keep your fuel tank over 1/4 tank. When your tank has less than 1/4 then it can cause your fuel pump to suck air and it can shorten the lifespan.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My fuel gauge stopped working

Your fuel gauge is one of those things that I deem important. I wouldn't want to run out of fuel when driving down the highway because I didn't know how much was in my tank. Your vehicle has a fuel level sending unit that tells the fuel gauge how much fuel is in your tank. If this stops working then your fuel gauge will also stop working. The fuel level sending until will need to be replaced to make your fuel gauge start working again. Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car won't start when I turn the key

If your car won't start when you turn the key it could be due to multiple things including a bad fuel pump. If your fuel pump stops doing it's job which is to supply your engine with the fuel it needs to run properly then your car won't start. Your fuel pump is just that it's an electric pump in your fuel tank that pumps fuel from your tank to your engine. If it stops working then it will need to be replaced to keep you on the road.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

Why does my fuel gauge bounce up and down?

Your fuel gauge may be bouncing around due to a faulty fuel level sending unit. When your fuel level sending unit starts to go out it will cause your fuel gauge to read improperly. This can cause you to run out of fuel while driving if it's not reading correctly and leave you stranded on the side of the road. Some of these sensors are integrated into your fuel pump and other times they are separate.  Give us a call and let us take care of you. 541-791-2886 Happy Adventures,  Heather

Why did my car stall?

Your car may have stalled due to a lack of fuel. If your fuel pump stops working then your engine is no longer receiving fuel and it will stall. If this is the issue then your fuel pump will need replacement. Depending on your car your fuel pump may be located inside of your fuel tank.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather
