Why is does my check engine light come on and then go off?

Why is does my check engine light come on and then go off?

Why is does my check engine light come on and then go off? Your check engine light continuously runs tests and monitors the systems in your vehicle. This is to make sure they are operating properly. If one of those components stops working as it is designed to then it will cause an error. This causes your check engine light will come on. If your check engine light, then goes off it could be that it re-ran the test and the component passed this time. Many times, we see this when a component is starting to fail. We can scan and diagnose your vehicle even when the light is off. This is due to the information being stored in your vehicle’s computer even when the light is off.
