My car is overheating. Why?

My car is overheating. Why?

Your vehicle may be overheating due to low coolant from a coolant leak. Coolant is an important component in your car - just an important as fuel. Coolant keeps your engine at a proper temperature and prevents damage. The cooling system consists of your radiator, water pump, thermostat, radiator hoses, heater hoses, expansion plugs, and heater core.  If you have a coolant leak give us a call and we will let you know what needs to be done to get you back on the road again. 541-791-2886 Happy Adventures, Heather

When should I replace my water pump?

When should I replace my water pump?

If your car is equipped with a timing belt then you should change your water pump and thermostat at the same time as you have your timing belt done. Typically with those engines it comes as a kit with the belt and components.  If your engine has a timing chain rather than a timing belt then it's not necessary to replace our water pump until it starts to leak or have an issue.  If you're wondering what type of engine you have then stop by and we'll check it and let you know.  Happy Adventures, Heather

Shop Small Business Saturday

I know today is black Friday and that itself has become a national holiday, but with all of that please remember to shop at the local stores in your town. They are small businesses trying to provide for there families, they work long hours with very little reward other than to know they are making a difference in the lives of the people who they employ and to there children. We are a small business too and sometimes people forget.  Please remember to shop small and support that local family who is doing their best to make a difference. Happy Adventures,  Heather

Smoking and your car....

The other day while I was in town with my youngest he saw a car and pointed it out and asked what was wrong with it. I told him it was smoking and that it looked like they had it under control as there were plenty of people around the car. He told me that it shouldn't do that it's not good for it, and I agreed immediately.   If your car is smoking you should have it looked at as soon as possible. Team Building

Team Building

Over the weekend we took the crew and my Mom on our annual summer trip. Every year we pick a new adventure and this year we decided we would go rock fishing off Newport for the day. We picked the wrong day. The forecast said it would be warm and we expected some waves. What we got was something totally different. Instead we had what Mom referred to as a deadliest catch day. We'll just say it was a little rough and cold.  I think Olivia and I have finally thawed out..   Our crew did amazing, even with a few of us who got sick, spirits were still high and we had fun. Don't they say a bad day fishing is better than...…We look forward to our day every year and we have already started to discuss what could be on the docket for next summer.   We know that you have plans for the rest of the summer and fall will be here before you know it. Are you ready for your trip? Make sure you are by scheduling a pre-trip inspection, oil change and get your maintenance do ... read more

Overheating and You

We are coming into the warmer months of the year and with that it can be easier for your vehicle to overheat if it is due for a cooling system fluid service or low on coolant/antifreeze. If your vehicle is starting to run warmer than normal it would be a good idea to have a cooling system test done. In a cooling system test they should check your vehicle for any external leaks, test the coolant/antifreeze, and pressurize the system to make sure you don't have any internal leaks. We all want to get where we are going and the best way to do that is to take good care of your vehicle and to make sure it is properly maintained. Cooling systems and hoses should be done every 100K or 6 years. If you think about it 100,000 miles is a lot of heating and cooling of those hoses and the fluid that goes through them. If it's been awhile it might be time to have yours checked out too. Heather
