Why did my cars air conditioning stop working?

Why did my cars air conditioning stop working?

Here are a few potential reasons: 1. Low refrigerant levels: If the refrigerant levels in your car's AC system are low, it can cause the system to stop working. This can happen due to leaks in the system or normal wear and tear over time. 2. Electrical issues: The AC system in your car relies on electrical components to function. If there is a problem with the electrical system, such as a blown fuse or faulty wiring, it can cause the AC to stop working. 3. Faulty compressor: The compressor is a key component of the AC system, and if it fails, the system won't work. This can happen due to a number of reasons, including wear and tear or a lack of regular maintenance. 4. Blocked or clogged condenser: The condenser is responsible for removing heat from the refrigerant. If it becomes blocked or clogged, it can prevent the AC system from working properly. 5. Malfunctioning blower: The blower is responsible for circulating the cooled air throughout your car's interior ... read more

Do all cars leak water when AC is on?

Most do. The water is coming from your evaporator core inside your dash. While using your air conditioner the evaporator core will create condensation. This condensation drains out the bottom of your vehicle through a drain tube. This is completely normal and how the system is designed to work. If you see water on the inside of your vehicle you may have a plugged drain tube or other problem. Give us a call and let us take care of you. Why does my a/c only blow on high?

If your air conditioning is only blowing on high then it could be due to a faulty blower motor resistor. The blower motor resistor could go out due to a terminal getting burnt due to the blower motor drawing too much current. When the blower motor is drawing too much current it will overload the circuits on the resistor. This will cause them to burn out and stop working. Why does my air conditioning smell musty?

Your air conditioning may smell musty due to condensation that builds up on the cold components inside of your dash. These cold components can collect dust out of the air. Over time the dust will build up, and combined with the moisture this will cause a musty smell. This musty smell is coming from mold and mildew from the dust. One way to prevent this from happening is to always run your air conditioning on recirculate. This will prevent the dust from entering the cab of your vehicle. We also recommend having your cabin air filter changed. Your cabin air filter collects the spores, pollen, and dirt from the air in your cab. Give us a call and let us take care of you. Why does my air conditioning blow hot?

Why does my air conditioning blow hot? Your air conditioning is blowing hot due to an issue with your air conditioning system. It could be just low on refrigerant, or you may have a leak. Why did my A/C stop working?

Why did my A/C stop working?

Why did my A/C stop working? Most of the time when your air conditioner stops working it is due to the refrigerant level in your air conditioning system is too low to turn on your a/c compressor. This is usually due to a leak in one of your air conditioning components.   This does not necessarily mean that the component has failed, it could mean that you have a faulty O-ring that is causing the issue. Your air conditioning system should be serviced every 3 to 5 years as preventative maintenance. Give us a call and let us take care of you. Why does my A/C blow hot on the passenger side

Why does my A/C blow hot on the passenger side

Why does my A/C blow hot on one side? This happened to my car last year and I can say if you are on the side that is not blowing hot it is not an enjoyable experience. It can happen due to a sticking, broken or malfunctioning temperature blend door. This occurs for a multiple of reasons. One of the multiple electrical components may have failed, this will cause it to not actuate properly and cause the door to stick. Another option is a mechanical breakdown where the internal gears have stripped.  When the gears strip then it does not allow it to turn properly opening the doors when required. The other option is that is has debris that has made its way inside causing the door to not open properly. Either way it is frustrating, and it almost always happens on the warmest days of the year. Give us a call and let us take care of you. Happy Adventures, Heather

My car air is not cold

My car air is not cold

My car air is not cold This is most likely due to an issue with your air conditioning system. When one of the components in your air conditioning system fails it causes the remaining components to not function properly. One of those components may be your condenser. Your condenser is in front of your radiator. They can fail due to many options and one of them is damage from rocks or debris hitting the front of your vehicle. The condenser is made of metal but if the rock hits it hard enough it will cause a hole and a leak. This causes your refrigerant to leak out. This component is not something that can be fixed, instead it will need to be replaced and the air conditioning system recharged. When your condenser is damaged it will leak out your refrigerant and cause your air conditioning to stop working. Give us a call and let us take care of you. Why did my air conditioner stop working in my car?

Why did my air conditioner stop working in my car?

Why did my air conditioning stop working in my car? Summer has arrived in the Willamette Valley and she came in HOT.  I expect when I get in my car and turn on the air conditioning for it to be cold and I am sure you do too. When that does not happen, it is not pleasant. This can happen for many reasons and one of them is a failure of the air conditioning compressor. Your compressor has a few different components that make it function and may seals. If one of the seals fail, then the compressor will leak out the refrigerant and this will cause your air conditioning system to not work. When this fails the system can become contaminated. If your air conditioning system is contaminated, then the other air conditioning components will need to be replaced to prevent another failure. While driving around with the windows down always sounds nice, I enjoy my air conditioning and would prefer to have it. Give us a call and let us take care of you. Happy Adventures, Heather

Why does my A/C blow hot?

Why does my A/C blow hot?

Why does my A/C blow hot? Your air conditioner may be blowing hot due to low refrigerant in the system. When you do not have enough refrigerant your air conditioning will not turn on to prevent damage to your a/c compressor and other components. This could be due to a leak in your air conditioning system. Your air conditioning system has many fittings and all of them can seep refrigerant over a long period of time causing your levels to be low and your air conditioning to not work properly. It is also possible that one of those many components has failed and that is causing your air conditioning to not work properly. We recommend that if your a/c is not working properly to have a leak test performed to make sure you have no other issues. Give us a call and let us take care of you. Happy Adventures, Heather
