Why is my check engine light blinking?

Why is my check engine light blinking? Your check engine light may be blinking due to a worn-out or faulty spark plug. When your check engine light is on and blinking it indicates that your engine has a catalyst damaging misfire. It can be caused by other issues other than your spark plugs. We would need to perform an engine diagnostic to know for sure that it is your spark plug and not a different component. We do promote replacing random parts to find out what is wrong. We prefer to know which part has failed and replace the correct part the first time. This saves you both time and money. Give us a call and let us take care of you. Why is does my check engine light come on and then go off?

Why is does my check engine light come on and then go off?

Why is does my check engine light come on and then go off? Your check engine light continuously runs tests and monitors the systems in your vehicle. This is to make sure they are operating properly. If one of those components stops working as it is designed to then it will cause an error. This causes your check engine light will come on. If your check engine light, then goes off it could be that it re-ran the test and the component passed this time. Many times, we see this when a component is starting to fail. We can scan and diagnose your vehicle even when the light is off. This is due to the information being stored in your vehicle’s computer even when the light is off. Why did my car die?

Your car may have an issue with the fuel pump. If your fuel pump is not working properly then it will stop sending fuel to the engine which will cause it to die. Your fuel pump is an electrical component that is located inside of your fuel tank.  Once the pump stops working then it will have to be replaced to get you back on the road again. The fuel pump is just one component that will cause your vehicle to die. The only way to know for sure is to have it properly diagnosed by a trained technician.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather
