Every engine is different, and every manufacturer has a different interval for when your spark plugs should be changed. On a Kia you should have your spark plugs changed every 30,000 to 45,000 miles. That interval could be anywhere from 30,000 miles to 90,000 miles. This service includes spark plugs, ignition wires or boots, a fuel filter (if needed), distributor cap and rotor (if needed) and an air filter (if needed). There are many manufactures out there that are still recommending tune ups at 30,000 and 60,000 miles too. Older vehicles need to have a tune up more frequently and some European cars only need a tune up every 120,000 miles. "Tune ups" are when your spark plugs, wires and/or coil boots along with a distributor cap and ignition rotor are changed. As for the interval that depends on your engine. Older vehicles need to have a tune-up every 30,000 to 60,0000, while newer engines can wait until 90,000 to be serviced. A tune up is when we replace the spark plugs and wires and or boots on your engine. We also replace the fuel filter if it is external. Depending on the age and engine we may also need to replace the distributor cap and ignition rotor.
