Why should I replace my shocks?

Your shocks are an important component to your suspension system. They wear slowly over the course of your vehicles life. Most of the time you don't realize they're even worn out until they are replaced. When your shocks are worn out they will increase your stopping distance. Shocks should be replaced every 50,000 miles to keep you safe on the road.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures, Heather

Why did my brake pedal go to the floor.

The most likely reason for your brake pedal going to the floor is you have a leak in your brake system. This could be from your master cylinder, disc brake calipers or wheel cylinders. When you're low on brake fluid it doesn't allow those systems to work properly and it can cause the brake pedal to go to the floor. Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My battery light came on then my car died

99.9% of the time that means that your alternator has failed. While driving your alternator charges your battery, when you alternator stops working then your car's electrical is running on the battery only and typically you can go around 15 miles without your lights or radio on before your battery dies. Your alternator will need to be replaced and possibly your battery too.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

Why are my brakes squeaking?

Your brakes could be squeaking due to being wet, from the type of pad material, they were overheated, or they are close to needing replaced. Many brake systems have a "squealer" on them that tells you when your brakes are getting close to needing replacement. This squealer is activated with the pad thickness is thin. If you're wondering why your brakes are squeaking it could be that you are due for new brake pads. We do free brake inspections - give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car is overheating at an idle?

When your engine starts to overheat it can cause damage to the internal components. A overheating issue should be taken care of quickly to prevent damage. This could be due the engine fan not engaging at the appropriate time. The engine fan should turn on at a specific temperature and this assists in cooling the engine to the appropriate temperature.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My 6.0L diesel won't start

This could be due to multiple issues, but many times when we see this it is due to the low pressure oil pump not creating enough pressure for the high pressure oil pump. When this happens the pickup will not run. Many times the low pressure oil pump will fail slowly and when that happens it can also damage the high pressure pump by not feeding it enough fuel. To confirm that this is the issue we test the low pressure pump and if it has failed then after replacement we will retest and also test the high pressure pump to make sure it was not damaged.  If it was damaged then it will have to be replaced too. Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car won't start when I turn the key

If your car won't start when you turn the key it could be due to multiple things including a bad fuel pump. If your fuel pump stops doing it's job which is to supply your engine with the fuel it needs to run properly then your car won't start. Your fuel pump is just that it's an electric pump in your fuel tank that pumps fuel from your tank to your engine. If it stops working then it will need to be replaced to keep you on the road.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car shakes when I brake

If your car is shaking while braking it is most likely due to an issue with your brake rotors. Your brake rotors can get overheated when braking down long hills or when pulling heavy loads. When your rotors get overheated this can cause them to warp and then your car will shake while braking.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

I have a puddle of fluid in my driveway

This could be from any fluid that goes into your vehicle. If it's dark then it's most likely engine oil or gear oil, if it's a reddish color then it's probably transmission fluid, green or orange then it's probably coolant. All of these fluids are important and the leak needs to be addressed. When your vehicle is low on fluid it can not operate the way that it should and it can cause long term damage to the components.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather
