Why do I need an alignment?

We recommend that you get an alignment once every 12 months or after suspension work is performed. After a year of driving there is a lot that your vehicle goes through. Everything from large speed bumps, pot holes, curbs all so many thing in between that can cause your alignment to get out of specification. Having an alignment performed after new tires, suspension work and/or once every 12 months will make sure your tires are wearing correctly to make your investment last as long as possible. When driving I heard a humming noise

When driving a you start to hear a noise that isn't what you would normally hear then it's a good idea to have it checked out for your safety as well as those around you. A humming noise could be a wheel bearing that the bearing has begun to fail. This can happen due to age, mileage or excessive weight. The bearing will fail internally and after a period of time it can become a safety hazard.  Give us a call and let us take care of you. 541-791-2886 Happy Adventures,  Heather

What do I put in my radiator?

It seems that every car manufacturer has a different type of coolant they want in your engine. There is no one size fits all and many are very specific. If you put the wrong type of coolant in your engine it could potentially damage it. You should always add the type of coolant plus distilled water to your radiator. Tap water and well water contain elements that are hard on your engine.  Now if you're in a situation that it's an emergency then you can add a different coolant and just the water you have on hand. The engine and radiator can be cleaned and the correct fluids can be replaced.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My wipers stopped working

Now is not the season in Oregon for your wipers to not function. No season is the right season, but when it's raining I would consider that the worst time. Some vehicles have a wipers motor that over time the internal components wear out and can cause the wiper motor to stop working. When this happens it's time to replace the motor. My transmission is shifting weird

It's story time - just humor me for a moment. I will start by saying this was prior to me working at the shop, at the time the boys were little and I was working from home. I should have known better, but I didn't. Jason and I took the boys to Seattle with his parents to watch a baseball game, on the way home we stopped for dinner as the boys were hungry. As we were getting ready to pull onto the on ramp suddenly we stopped moving. Nothing, nada, we weren't going anywhere. Jason with all his knowledge was able to get us off of the road and back down into a parking lot. Jason of course instantly knew what had happened. My transmission had gone out. From there he called the tow truck and we waited.  We finally got home around 3 am and when he looked at my vehicle the next day, he found the transmission had imploded on it's self and it had to be rebuilt. Now had I known the signs and symptoms I could have prevented all of the anguish and headache and m ... read more
