Why did my check engine light come on?

Your check engine light can come on from something as simple as a gas cap to an issue with an engine control module to a transmission issue. The only way to know for sure is to have it properly diagnosed. Sometimes it is as simple as a faulty gas cap and other times it may say it's a "gas cap" but it's something more complicated within the fuel and emissions system.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

I was told I have a CAT efficiency code. Why??

This code can be due to an issue with your fuel emissions system. It could be from something as simple as bad fuel or something more serious like an internal fault within the catalytic converter. If it is an issue with the catalytic converter then the converter will need to be replaced and the system will need to be retested.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

I went up a hill and my car overheated

An overheating issue can be from multiple reasons. One reason could be is the fan is not engaging and helping to cool off the engine when it's under load. This can due to a bad fan clutch or possibly the fan clutch relay. You would need to test to find out which (or both) that have failed causing the issue. Once we have determined what needs to be replaced and have corrected the issue then we would retest to make sure there are no other issues.  Give us a call and let us take care of you. 541-791-2886 Happy Adventures,  Heather

I was told my brake fluid is green...why??

Your brake fluid is a vital important component of your brake system. Your brake fluid flows through your calipers, wheel cylinders, master cylinder and other components. The green color is algae in your brake fluid. That means that your brake fluid is contaminated and has a high moisture content. This is very hard on your brake components and in an emergency situation it can cause your brakes to not work properly. Your brake fluid should be serviced at least once a year depending on the climate of your area.  Give us a call and let us take care of you. Happy Adventures,  Heather

Why is my coolant low?

Your coolant could be low due to a leak in one of your radiator hoses. Your radiator hoses should be replaced every 50,000 to 100,000 miles. This of course depends on where you drive and how you drive. Your radiator hoses are made of rubber and over time it starts to degrade and break down. If your hoses start to leak it can cause your coolant to be low and then your engine can overheat causing a whole new set of issues. A little maintenance can go a long way.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

Why do I have a puddle of water under my car?

If you've been using your air conditioner then it is most likely from your air conditioning system. When you use your air conditioning system it can freeze, once you stop driving it will melt and cause the puddle of water. Of course if you are concerned about your vehicle then we would be happy to put your mind at ease and make sure it's just the air conditioner and nothing else.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

Why did my car die?

Your car may have an issue with the fuel pump. If your fuel pump is not working properly then it will stop sending fuel to the engine which will cause it to die. Your fuel pump is an electrical component that is located inside of your fuel tank.  Once the pump stops working then it will have to be replaced to get you back on the road again. The fuel pump is just one component that will cause your vehicle to die. The only way to know for sure is to have it properly diagnosed by a trained technician.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather
