Summer Travel Tips - Number 7 - Pets

If you've ever stepped in the door you know all about Kenzie, Ashley and Bailey. They're the black labrador girls in the office. They're our girls and we're fortunate to bring them with us, they not only come to work with us but we also travel with them, and they go camping with us too. We've learned a few things since we got Kenzie in 2012 about what you need when you travel with your pet.  1. A go bag - it's the term that my Mom has always referred to as the bag you grab when you're headed out the door. I have a few of them, one is for the girls. It has all the needed items from water dish, leashes and disposal bags.  2. Water - I get a gallon jug and just refill it at the house, we also have a collapable silicone water dish, it's compact and it works great for the girls.  3. Leashes - while the girls are trained to be off the leash most places require that you have your dog on a leash, this is for the safety of your dog and for other ... read more

Why do I need to replace both calipers?

When one of your brake calipers fail it's very common to see the next one fail within a very short period of time. It also affects the equal braking on both of your wheels. We always recommend to replace both calipers if one has failed. It keeps you on the road longer and you also have the benefit of peace of mind knowing your brakes are functioning properly.  Give us a call at 541-791-2886 and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

Why is my transmission fluid burnt?

When someone is describing that your transmission fluid is burnt, or smells burnt it is because at some point the transmission got hotter than it should have and burnt the fluid. It's similar to if you overheat oil when you're cooking. It can also be from lack of regular service, or an internal issue within your transmission. No matter what the reason if your fluid is burnt then it needs to be serviced and monitored in the future.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

What do wheel bearings do?

Wheel bearings support the weight of your vehicle and allow the brake components, wheel and tire to all rotate. When they start to make noise or if they have movement in them then it's time to change them. They are something that gets used each and every time you move your vehicle and are a very important safety component.  Give us a call at 541-791-2886 and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather
