How often should I have my tires rotated?

How often should I have my tires rotated?

You should have your tires rotated every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. We typically say your tires should be rotated at each oil change to make sure they wear evenly and properly. We also recommend to have an alignment performed every 12 months, it's great maintenance for your tires. We will do a free rotate with your oil change, give us a call to schedule or you can request an appointment online.  Happy Adventures, Heather

Why should I replace my brakes lines?

Why should I replace my brakes lines?

Your brake lines are rubber and like all things they deteriorate over time and should be replaced. This isn't something that should be replaced often, they should be inspected at every oil change and replaced every 100,000 miles.  Happy Adventures, Heather

When my car stops it shakes

If your car is shaking when at a stop you could have an issue with a motor mount or a misfire in your engine. With either of those things it's best to have it checked out for your safety and for the health of your engine. Give us a call and we will make sure you're safe on all your travels.  Happy Adventures, Heather

Why does my car overheat?

Why does my car overheat?

Your car could overheat because of a handful of reasons, the first would be to check to make sure it has coolant (antifreeze) in it and that it is the correct type for your engine. After that it could be a number of mechanical or electrical issues that is causing your issue. 10 Holiday Travel Tips

10 Holiday Travel Tips

Today I thought we should discuss a few holiday travel tips that while the are good for this time of year are also a good reminder for the entire year.  1. Breathe - we are all trying to get to where we are going and getting upset is not going to get you there any quicker.  2. Leave early - you already know the roads will be packed, leave a little early so you don't have to worry about being late. Make sure you have an alternate route in case the road is stopped - maybe just take that one instead, a scenic drive is always nice.  3. Don't get hangry - take snacks, it doesn't matter how long the drive just take some snacks. 4. Get fuel the day before you leave - trust me you don't want this fight. 5. Rethink your packing - the night before go through and decide what is really needed and then thin it out.  6. Chargers - you know you need them, make sure you have one for every single device you are taking - again trust me on this one.  ... read more

Why should I change my spark plugs?

Why should I change my spark plugs?

Spark plugs should be changed every 30K to 90K depending on the type and your engine. When your spark plugs are old they do not work as well and then your engine does not work as well and it can cause issues from run-ability to poor fuel mileage.  Give us a call and we can let you know if you're due for new spark plugs. How often should I change my brakes?

How often should I change my brakes?

Your vehicle can have two types of brakes one are disc brakes and the other are drum brakes. The drums will always be in the rear of the vehicle and the disc can be in the front and or rear also depending on the make and model.  Front and rear disc brake pads should be changed will they are between 2-3 mm of material left. For brakes shoes they should be changed at 2 mm. As for how often that just depends on the type of driving you do and where you're driving. If you drive the freeway then your brakes will probably last longer than if you drive in town all day. If you're towing and going through the mountains expect to change your brakes more frequently.  We do free brake inspections so stop by and we will make sure you're safe on all your adventures.  Happy Adventures, Heather

My brakes are making noise

My brakes are making noise

---This brake pad fell off. The caliper was seized and caused the pad to wear prematurely and damaged the rotor---  If your brakes are making a noise then it would be best to have them checked as soon as possible. I would honestly say that stopping and steering are the two most important parts to the car. They keep you safe and everyone safe around you.  If you are hearing noise when you're braking have it checked out immediately. It could be a rock or it could mean it's time to replace your brakes. We do free brake inspections, give us a call or stop by and we will check them for you.  Happy Adventures, Heather
