When should I change my timing belt?

Your timing belt should be changed every 60,000 to 90,000 miles and this depends on your engine and your maintenance schedule. Every time your timing belt gets serviced we also change your water pump, thermostat and seals. This ensures that your vehicle runs and operates properly. Your timing belt is an important component as it makes sure the internal components of your engine are rotating properly and in sync.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

Back to school 2020

I don't have to tell you how different the school year looks this year, we are all struggling and wishing things looked differently. We are hoping that it will get better and the kids will get back into the classrooms and back to the activities they love. Our kids are old enough that they are doing online school for now with the hopes of that changing in the next few months. We're not "going" as much as we have typically but we're trying to make the most of the situation that we have. We hope that you're all well and all of your kids are handling it as well as can be expected. Please let us know if you need anything for your kids and for the younger ones who are in school I hope they get to soak up as much of it as possible.  Since we're all hopeful for school starting in person now is the time to get your maintenance caught up from all the summer fun. We went on Sunday drives and had adventures within our social distancing guidelines. Now it's t ... read more

September 11

Do you remember? I do and I always will.  We have an entire generation that has been born since that day, including my children. They need to be taught what happened that day, to be told of the lives lost and the heroes who saved so many.  Happy Adventures,  Jason and Heather

My car is making a scraping noise

Your car may be making a scraping noise due to an issue with your brakes. If one of your brake calipers is seized or sticking then it can cause a noise when you're driving. This noise will not go away and will progressively get worse. Your brake caliper can seize due to an excessive amount of moisture in your brake fluid that will damage the internal components of your braking system. Your brake fluid's moisture content should stay below 1% anything more than that and it should be serviced. We typically advise that you have your brake fluid serviced every 12 months. We also do free brake inspections, give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My rear brake is smoking

Smoking brakes is something that you should be very concerned about. This could be due to the caliper being seized and applying the brake or it could be an issue with your parking brake system. If your parking brake cable gets stuck and it stays on it can also cause your brakes to smoke. Over time your parking brake cable can become corroded and the cable can seize which will make it not release when you release your parking brake. This can also cause your parking brake to not hold properly on a hill. This is a safety concern that needs to be addressed immediately to keep you, your family and others safe.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

Why does my belt squeak?

Your serpentine belt may be squeaking due to it being worn out. It could also be squeaking due to a faulty serpentine belt tensioner. The tensioner has internal bearing and over time those bearings will wear out and cause your tensioner to start making noise. Your tensioner should be replaced when the bearings are worn to keep you on the road. If the bearing breaks then it will cause your alternator to stop charging and then after it has drained your battery your vehicle will stop running.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car is pulling to the right

There are questions that come with this statement. When does it pull? When you hit the brakes? While driving down the road? If your car is pulling when you're on the brakes then it's an indication that you're having an issue with your brake calipers. When you caliper sticks then it causes your brake to be stuck on and that will cause the pulling. We do free brake inspections, you're welcome to call and we will get you in to make sure you're safe on all your journeys.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

On occasion my car won't start

This could be due to an issue with your starter and your flex plate. If your starter is not connecting to your flex plate properly during starting then it can cause your vehicle to not start. We would need to test your started to make sure it doesn't have an issue then to inspect your flex plate for any missing teeth.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather
