My check engine light is on and flashing

If your check engine light is on and it's flashing at you that means that you have a misfire that could potentially damage your engine. This can occur because of a faulty spark plug or ignition wire. This could also happen if your engine is past due for a tune up. Either way it is something that needs to be addressed immediately to prevent damage to your engine.  Give us a call and let us take care of you. Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car makes a noise when I turn at low speeds

This could be due to an issue with your power steering pump, or your suspension components. If your power steering pump is low on fluid it will cause your pump to be loud and potentially cause damage to your power steering pump. On the suspension side of things, it could easily be worn out bushings causing your noise.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car started shaking

Your vehicle could be shaking due to a suspension component being worn out, for pickups it can cause a "death wobble" this is very specific to a certain suspension system, but when it happens it can be dangerous due to the lack of control you have when driving. If this happens you need to hold the steering wheel firmly and slow down as quickly as is safe while still in control of the vehicle. You may have to come to a complete stop for it to go away, once this happens you can start driving again. This will keep happening at unpredictable times until the suspension issue is fixed.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car won't turn on

If your car won't start or even turn on it's probably your battery. Batteries typically last anywhere from 4-7 years. This depends on the type of battery and of course the quality. When replacing your battery you should have the battery cables and terminals checked to make sure you won't have more issues in the future. Of course if your could be bad sooner than that and most places will have a guarantee. These are typically 12 months to 30 months and again this depends on the battery you purchased.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car has no heat

Your car could have no heat due to low coolant. Your coolant flows through your engine and gets hot, it then cycles through your heater core and that is what heats the interior of your car. If your coolant is low then there isn't enough then your heater won't work properly. The best way to know for sure what's going on is to have your car checked to make sure that is the problem you're having.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car overheated

Your car could have overheated due to a lack of coolant/antifreeze. This can happen due to a hose bursting from age or damage. Your heater and radiator hoses should be replaced every 100K to 120K miles. If you think about it if you drive the national average which I believe is close to 15,000 per year is 6 1/2 years before you need to change them. That's a lot of driving in 6 1/2 years.  When a hose bursts or leaks it will cause your engine to overheat, when this happens you need to pull over as soon as it's safe and shut off your engine. Driving while your engine is overheating will cause damage to your engine.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car isn't starting

Over time anything can wear out, even your starter. Just think of how many starting cycles you've had over the course of the lifetime of your vehicle. Every single time you start your vehicle your starter has to make that happen. Over a period of many years all that starting can cause the brushes inside of the starter to wear out and stop functioning. Sometimes it's a part that can be repaired and other times it just needs to be replaced -that just depends on the starter itself.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather
