My brakes make a grinding noise when I back up

Your brakes could be making a grinding noise due to a faulty brake caliper. If your caliper seizes then it can cause your brake pad to wear prematurely and this will cause grinding when the brake pad wears down to metal. If this happens your brake calipers, rotors and pads will all need to be replaced.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car has a water leak

The most common water leak that we find is from a sunroof. The drains on the sunroof can become clogged with debris and this will cause the sunroof to leak into the car since it doesn't have a place to drain. The drains of your sunroof will become clogged with debris from trees and other materials. The drains should be checked and cleaned at least once a year to prevent you from having an issue.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

I have a mouse in my car

I have a mouse in my car. As cute as mice are in the storybooks they are hard on vehicles and the components. One little mouse can cause a lot of damage if they are left to do what they want. Mice will make a nest in any area they want and they love to chew on wiring which is a different issue all on it's own.  To keep mice out of your car here are some tips.  1. Don't leave food in your car - this attracts them 2. Don't leave clothing in your car - it makes a great nest 3. Put a dryer sheet in your glove box and that will help to keep them away - they don't like the smell If you do have an issue with mice then you should have a professional find the access points to your heater and air intake and cover them with wire mess. This will also deter them and hopefully they will find a new home.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car was hard to start

Your car could have been hard to start due your battery needing replacement. Your battery has a life of 4 to 6 years - this depends on the type and quality of your battery. If your battery is good quality then many times you can exceed the 6 year mark, if it isn't then your battery may only last for 2 to 4 years. Quality does make a difference in the longevity of your battery life. When your battery is weak then it will cause your car to crank slowly and a hard start.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My ABS light came on

Your ABS light is part of your braking system. If this light comes on then that means you have a fault within that system that needs attention. This could be a control module that sends information to your brakes. This would be a safety concern and something that should be addressed as soon as possible.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car started to shake. Why?

Your car might be shaking due to a faulty u-joint. Your u-joint is one piece of your drive lines components. This connects your transmission to your axles and/or differentials. Over time the joint will wear out and this will cause a shaking or vibration while driving. It typically is very minor and gets progressively worse overtime.  Give us a call to schedule your appointment and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My check engine light is on and blinking

If your check engine light is on that is startling enough, but when it starts to blink that becomes an even bigger concern. When your check engine light starts to blink that typically means that your engine has a misfire. When your engine has a misfire it can be from multiple reasons. One is a bad ignition coil. Over time your ignition coil can wear out and stop working. If this happens we recommend to replace all of the ignition coils. You can replace just one, but typically we find that the other ignition coils will start to fail quickly after one has failed. Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

Why window won't roll up

Your window may be stuck down due to a faulty window motor. If the window motor has failed then your window will probably be stuck in the down position. If you're able and a little of the window is sticking up you can grab the window and while someone else presses the button you can very gently pull the window up. This will keep the rain out of your car until you can get it repaired.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather
