Why should I change my diesel engine oil

We've had a lot of questions recently about what maintenance should be performed on diesel engines and diesel engines. We will be doing a weekly series specifically for diesels to address concerns and questions. If you have a questions that you would like us to answer please give a call at 541-791-2886 or email me and we will do our best to answer your questions.  Today we are going to talk about your oil change and why it's so important. I know it sounds simple and something that can be "put off" but really so important. When you go to long between oil changes then your oil gets dirty and that oil is what goes through your injectors. Dirty oil can clog your injector making it not work properly and even damage it beyond repair. We recommend that you change your engines oil every 5,000 miles to prevent this from occurring. With proper maintenance your engine will last for as long as you want it to.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy A ... read more

How often should I change my engine oil?

Your engine oil should be changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles and this depends on the type of oil that your engine takes. If your engine takes a full synthetic or if it's a diesel then we recommend that you have your oil changed every 5,000 miles. If your engine takes a conventional or synthetic blend then we recommend to have it changed every 3,000 miles. This is due to the fact that over time your engine oil can get contaminated with fuel and then it begins to thin out and provides less lubrication.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures, Heather

Why does my car shake at a stop?

If your vehicle is shaking at an idle then there is a good chance that you may have a misfire. A misfire happens when your spark plugs are worn or even damaged. We can perform a tune up on your engine which includes new spark plugs, spark plug wires and or boots and get you back on the road again.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

My Engine Light is On

The engine symbol on your instrument cluster is a warning that something within your vehicle has malfunctioned. It could be something as simple as when you got fuel that the gas cap wasn't tightened enough or the seal on the gas cap is worn and your vehicle needs a new gas cap. It could also mean something more serious is going on and needs to be addressed. Either way your vehicle needs to be checked out to make sure you're safe on all your travels. Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures, Heather

When I Stop My Brakes Squeak

Your brakes may be squeaking due to the material they are made of, or because they are due to be changed. The brake pad has a squealer bracket that will make a noise when you apply the brake when it starts to get too thin. We do free brake inspections to make sure you're safe on all your travels. Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures, Heather

My Tire Pressure Light Is On

When your tire pressure light comes on your tire pressure needs to be checked. It could be on due to a few reasons. If you have one tire that has a lower pressure than the other three it will keep the light on until it is corrected. If you're concerned just stop by during business hours and we would be happy to check your air pressure for you.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures, Heather

My Engine is Ticking

Your engine ticking could be from multiple things and the best way to know for sure is to have it checked out. The two most common reasons for this is that your engine oil is low, which means you could have an oil leak or that your valves are out of adjustment. Either way any time that your engine is making a noise that isn't "normal" you should have it checked out.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures, Heather

West Albany High School Waterpolo

For anyone who has ever come in the shop and we've visited then you know about our boys. The oldest is a senior at West Albany and has played water polo for them for the last 4 years. He's the varsity goalie and it's been so much fun to get to watch him play in a game that he loves so much. The middle is a freshman and is also on the team. This afternoon is semi-finals for state that will be held at the pool in Corvallis. Saturday is the final and we are all hopeful they will win today and get to play for the championship tomorrow. If you're around stop by the pool tomorrow they play at 1:20 and root on the Bulldogs.  Thank you for your patience while Jason and I are out to watch the boys play. Olivia and the crew will be here to take care of you while we are out. Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures, Heather
