Like all things car batteries do have life cycle and typically a good quality battery will last 5-6 years. That's a lot of starting, headlights, heating/air conditioning, and singing along to the radio. When you live in cold climates where it is consistently freezing that can decrease the life of your battery and the same goes for if you live in very warm areas. If you're concerned about your battery, stop by we do free electrical and battery checks. Happy Adventures, Heather

If your car battery has died then it's likely that your car will not be able to start. Batteries last for 4-6 years typically. In climates that have more variable temperatures they can have a shorter life span. We do free battery and electrical checks, give us a call or stop by and we'll check yours for you. Most off automotive batteries have a life cycle of 5-6 years. Some will keep working longer than that and others don't last that long. Some of that depends on how many times the battery died due to be drained, or an issue with the alternator. Another factor is the climate that you live in. If you have extremes - cold and hot - it can wear your battery down faster. If you're having an issue stop by and we will do a free electrical check for you. Happy Adventures, Heather

Batteries have all have a life span, most automotive batteries will last between 5 to 6 years without replacement. There is of course always an exception to the rule. If your battery has been drained aka lights have been left on or your alternator has caused an issue then it can dramatically shorten the life of your battery and if may have to be replaced sooner rather than later. Also if you don't drive often it can cause your battery to discharge and it can also shorten the life. You could also have an issue with the charging system in your car. If the alternator is not working properly and it's not charging your battery like it should then it could cause it to die also. We do free electrical checks, stop by and we will check your electrical system on your vehicle. That includes the battery, alternator and the starter. Happy Adventures, Heather

I know today is black Friday and that itself has become a national holiday, but with all of that please remember to shop at the local stores in your town. They are small businesses trying to provide for there families, they work long hours with very little reward other than to know they are making a difference in the lives of the people who they employ and to there children. We are a small business too and sometimes people forget. Please remember to shop small and support that local family who is doing their best to make a difference. Happy Adventures, Heather

Corrosion on top of your battery could be caused from a bad connection, but most of the time the battery itself is leaking through the seal around the post. If you have it cleaned and the corrosion comes back then it's time to replace your battery. We can do a battery check for you, battery acid needs to be handled carefully and fumes can lead to an explosion. Happy Adventures Heather

When your car isn't turning over or cranking it could be from something super simple like a battery or it could be something a little more serious. The best thing is to have it towed and let us take a look at it for you. Happy Adventures Heather

My car won't start. I've had this happen and it's never at a good or convenient time. It happened to me just last week in fact. I went out to go to the gym early in the morning and when I went to turn the key …. nothing, no click, to lights, nothing, nadda, zip. I ran back in the house woke Jason up and told him what had happened - ask him to fix it, took his keys and still made it to my 5am workout. I know that I am lucky to live with the mechanic (sometimes) it was just a dead battery. The boys had been in the Yukon and the key got left on. Jason charged the battery and I was good to go when I was ready to head to work. This wasn't the first time this has happened and it hasn't always been the battery..... When the oldest was still trap shooting I had the alternator go out on the way home. I was a bit nervous that time. All of the sudden the bright red battery light came on and the headlights started to go dim. It didn't ... read more
