Why is my car burning oil?

Your car could be burning oil due to a dirty air filter. When your air filter is dirty it restricts air flow into the engine and that will cause the engine it to pull to much air from the crankcase and can cause it to start burning oil. We recommend to replace your air filter whenever it's dirty and depending on where you live, the type of driving that you do and where you adventure to that could be at each oil change, or just once a year.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures, Heather

My car smells like rotten eggs

Rotten eggs is a scent that no one likes, and when your car smells like it that's even worse. It's a sulfur smell that is coming from your exhaust system. Sulfur is a natural component of gasoline and when refined it is typically decreased and so it's not as noticeable. This can be cured by purchasing your gasoline from a different station.  Please give us a call if you have any questions.  Happy Adventures, Heather

My radiator is leaking

If your radiator is leaking then it needs to be replaced. Your radiator is make of fins and tubes that the air gets passed through and cools the coolant in the tanks that are inside the radiator. The tanks are made of plastic so after a period of time they can become old and brittle. If your radiator hoses have not been replaced within the last 5 years we will typically suggest those also be replaced due to age and mileage.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

How much can I tow with my F150

The tow rating should be on the inside of your driver's door, although sometimes all those numbers can be confusing and it's hard to know what they all mean. For your F-150 the tow rating is 5,000lbs to 8,000lbs depending on the package of your pickup. You should refer to your owners manual for all the specifics and if you have questions you're welcome to stop by and we will do our best to answer those for you.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

When I turn my key my car clicks

Many times when we have this particular symptom where the car just clicks when you go to start it, then it is the starter that needs to be replaced. This is not true 100% of the time, but it is a common failure and symptom of that failure. We would need to diagnose it properly to make sure that's what is going on.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

Why does my car overheat when stopped

Your car is overheating when you're driving due to restricted air flow to the radiator and the engine. When you're stopped and idling there is no air flow. You may have a coolant leak of some kind or your radiator may be plugged with debris. Either way it needs to be checked before it does damage to your engine.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures, Heather

Why does my pickup shake when idling

Your pickup can shake at an idle for a few reasons, the most common that we see is from a misfire on the engine. It can be from your spark plugs misfiring or if your drive a diesel it would be your injector misfiring. Either way if it goes on to long it can damage your engine. We would suggest to have it checked to make sure there isn't any damage.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather
