Why does my fuel gauge bounce up and down?

Your fuel gauge may be bouncing around due to a faulty fuel level sending unit. When your fuel level sending unit starts to go out it will cause your fuel gauge to read improperly. This can cause you to run out of fuel while driving if it's not reading correctly and leave you stranded on the side of the road. Some of these sensors are integrated into your fuel pump and other times they are separate.  Give us a call and let us take care of you. 541-791-2886 Happy Adventures,  Heather

My clutch smells

If you're new to driving a manual then it could be that you're holding in the clutch too long or pressing on the accelerator a little too hard when taking off from a stop. If this happens for an extended period of time it can damage your clutch and flywheel if this happens they will need to be replaced. It's also possible that if you purchased your vehicle second hand then the clutch is worn out and it's due for replacement. Your clutch does have a life span and that depends on how you drive and the material that your clutch is made out of. If you're concerned about your clutch you're welcome to stop by and we will check it for you.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

This can be due to worn out or even damaged spark plugs or other ignition components. If you drive your vehicle to to long with a misfire then it can damage the engine or the catalytic converters. We can service all your vehicles needs. Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures, Heather

Why did my car stall when I stopped

Your car could have stalled due to a vacuum leak on one of the lines. When you have a vacuum leak then your engine doesn't have the correct amount of pressure and it will cause it to run poorly and to even stall when stopped. The vacuum line will need to be repaired or replaced then re-checked. This can happen from the age of the line.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

Road Trip!

It's that time of year that a road trip sounds about right. This year things are a bit different that is for sure, but that doesn't mean that you can't still make a road trip and some family time happen it might just have to look a bit different and you'll need to do some extra planning.  1. Pack extra snacks - you don't want to have to make extra stops so just pack a bag full of snacks to have on hand. I always ask the boys what the favorite of the day is then get them that. I seem to come up with less issues that way.  2. Pack a cooler - the same as the snacks, go through and ask what they want to drink - it will make your life easier - now if they only pick something that is full of sugar then you decide what's best.  3. Blankets - I love a good travel blanket, it just makes it more comfortable. Maybe even a pillow if it's even a long enough drive 4. Car charger - make sure everyone has one - my boys fight when the battery starts to die ... read more

Why does my engine make a ticking noise?

Your engine is most likely making a ticking noise due to your lifters inside your engine being worn out or damaged. They could be "stuck" which will cause the noise also. To make the ticking go away then you will need to replace the lifters. This can be prevented by regular oil changes and maintenance. When you change your engine oil on a regular basis then it allows your lifters to work more efficiently and with less wear.  Give us a call and let us take care of you.  Happy Adventures,  Heather

Why did my temperature gauge go to the hot mark

This could be due to your thermostat sticking closed.  Your thermostat is designed to open when your engine gets to the optimal operating temperature. This allows your engine to work more efficiently and will give your engine a longer life. When your thermostat stops working it can cause your engine to overheat. Overheating your engine can cause long term damage and is hard on components.    Give us a call and let us take care of you.  541-791-2886 Happy Adventures,  Heather

My car is overheating

If your car is overheating then you may have an issue with your cooling fans. Your cooling fans come on when your engine needs to be cooled down, if they're not coming on it can cause an overheating issue. Many times you won't realize you have a cooling fan issue when you're driving since the wind will help to cool your engine down. You will typically notice this at a long stop or when idling.  Give us a call and let us take care of you. 541-791-2886 Happy Adventures,  Heather
