I am so sorry, this is typically what we call a bad day. This can happen for so many reasons. One of the most common reasons that we see is the timing belt breaks. Your timing belt should be serviced every 60,000 to 90,000 miles. This depends on your engine and the driving that you do. When your timing belt breaks it can damage your internal engine parts. Your diesel could have a lack of power if your turbo is not working properly. This could be due to the internal components of your turbo failing. If the veins of the turbo are sticking or stuck closed, then it will cause a low boost issue and then that will cause a lack of power. There are other components in the turbo that will also cause a lack of power. The oil can light on your dash is for your oil pressure. This light will come on when you have an issue with your oil pressure. This is one of those times that you should not keep driving and pull over as soon as it is safe too. The light could be on due to a faulty sensor but it comes on more times because of low oil pressure and this can be due to not enough oil or to much oil in your engine. It can also be due to the oil pump not pumping the correct amount of oil into your engine. When your engine gets to hot it can cause the computer to shut down your engine to prevent damage. Your engine can overheat due to low coolant or from a cooling component not functioning properly. When your car shakes on start up this can be a symptom of a worn out or broken motor mount. This can cause the engine to shake or vibrate when you start your car. Your engine mounts are made of rubber and over time they will wear out and become brittle. All cars make noise, but when they start making a noise that isn't "normal" then it's time to have it properly diagnosed and checked. A grinding noise when turning can be an indication that your power steering pump is starting to fail. It could also be due to having air in your system. This year travel looks a bit different than it has in the past. Instead of being carefree it's a bit more cautious. We know what is happening in the world is strange and scary, we've also changed many of our plans for the summer. Here are a few tips to get you back on the road and enjoying yourself despite COVID. 1. Plan ahead - I know over planning can ruin a perfectly good road trip, but in this case it's a good thing. Plan your stops ahead of time. 2. Pack snacks - no brainer right, well my kids favorite thing to do is to grab a snack when we stop for fuel. Instead I pack snacks ahead of time and this prevents them from being exposed to other people 3. Pack a cooler - this goes along with #2, planning ahead and packing a cooler prevents you from getting out of the car more than necessary. 4. Go on a weekday - this very well could be a no go, it is for us, but if you can get away on a week day then it's the best time to go, less people means less exposure.  ... read more
